The new Coca-Cola truck appeared already late last year on the Main Street, U.S.A., taking a few rides up and down the Main Street and was later on parked next to Central Plaza on the wide walkway leading down to the dragon's cave under the castle. With its great turn of the century look it did fit into the Main Street, U.S.A. but what was it all about? Just a rolling advertising for Coke, similar to small details added in the Walt Disney Studios in the year's past (e.g. the Coke Bike)?
As guests this weekend learned: no - the turn of the century truck actually serves a really up-to-date purpose ... serving in the literal sense that is. Once the truck stops and the cast member gets in place, the cover on the side of the truck can be opened up, revealing refreshingly cold Coca Cola drinks stored / presented in what looks like a turn of the century system of wooden drawers.
Overall: a new detail that adds a needed mobile drinks sales car to the Main Street without breaking the atmosphere, in fact enhancing it.
