Background information: the work on the upcoming Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast attraction going into the former Visionarium in Discoveryland is making progress. To announce the opening date (April 8, 2006) signs have been added to the so far bar blue construction walls, featuring Zurg, Buzz and the little green aliens. 
While the upper part of the facade is nearly finished, the new walls that close off the former covered overflow-queue-area in the front of the building are still unthemed. Also the work on a related new mosaic on the walkway at the entrance of Discoveryland continues, resulting in a bottleneck. To ease traffic a rope is temporary set up to create separate lanes for in- and outbound guest flow.
The former Constellations shop has reopened in the meantime after finishing the first phase of its transformation into a Buzz Lightyear / Toy Story themed shop. Mickey's flying machine inspired by Leonardo da Vinci did not return for obvious reasons and the drawings of the zodiac signs above the central area have been covered. Also a new carpet featuring the colors and graphics from the Toy Story universum have been added as well as new Toy Story themed cashier signs. Some additional themeing elements may be added in time for the opening of the new attraction.

Hintergrundinformation: die Arbeiten an der künftigen Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast Attraktion im ehemaligen Visionarium in Discoveryland kommen gut voran. Nun wurden Hinweise auf die Eröffnung am 8. April 2006 und Zeichnungen von Zurg, Buzz und den kleinen grünen Aliens auf dem bisher einfach blauen Bauzaun angebracht. Über dem ist die obere Hälfte der Fassade erkennbar, die fast fertiggestellt scheint. Die neuen Wände, 
die den Bereich der alten Warteschlange im vorderen Teil des Gebäudes abtrennen sind dagegen noch nicht bearbeitet. Auch dauern die Arbeiten an dem neuen Bodenmosaik im Eingangsbereich von Discoveryland an, so dass hier eine Engstelle entstanden ist. Um den Guestflow zu verbessern wurden jedoch zwischenzeitlich mittels eines Seiles zwei getrennte Spuren für die beiden "Verkehrsrichtungen" geschaffen.
Der ehemalige Constellations Shop hat zwischenzeitlich die erste Phase der Verwandlung in einen Buzz Lightyear / Toy Story Shop abgeschlossen und wurde wieder geöffnet. So ist die von Leonardo da Vinci inspirierte Flugmaschine natürlich nicht wieder aufgestellt worden, außerdem wurden die Sternzeichen an der Kuppel darüber verdeckt, es wurde ein neuer Teppichboden in den Farben und mit Graphiken aus der Toy Story Welt verlegt und neue Kassenschilder im Toy Story Design angebracht. Weitere Änderungen könnten eventuell rechtzeitig zur Eröffnung der neuen Attraktion anstehen.
