When Walt Disney created Disneyland he wanted to have the opportunity to tell his stories in three dimensions. He was able to build the sets for his stories - but a certain element was missing: characters.

Als Walt Disney Disneyland erschuf wollte er die Möglichkeit haben seine Geschichten dreidimensional erzählen zu können. Er konnte die Sets für diese Geschichten bauen - doch ein gewisses Element fehlte noch: die Figuren.

Walking under the Disney Main Street Station into Town square we can witness some rehab work is being done. While the Emporium building is covered with Carnival decoration we can see work is in progress on the rooftop. Next to the Emporium shop, on the side of the Liberty Arcade entrance, the façade has been given a new lick of paint; or should we say “half a lick of paint” as only the bottom half has been painted so far while the top half shows the fading colors. 
The façade is used as the background of a character meet and great opportunity. Pluto and Goofy, often seen in this area, while have to make themselves small when posing in front of the camera to avoid a half finished background in the pictures.
Other work in the park is completely finished. In Adventureland clothing, plush and other Disney collectables are back on display in the refurbished “La Girafe Curieuse” shop. In Fantasyland “Les Pirouettes du Vieux Moulin” area has reopened to the public with a repaired roof for the Old Mill.
